Natural and Self-Made Sweetness: Recipe
Ending a hot, busy, weekend with dinner and dessert can be challenging. I've realized that my children have managed to eat nearly a 1/2 lb. of sugar from Friday to Sunday. So after a light dinner served al fresco (that ended with a loud thunder storm), I decided to serve up the gorgeous strawberries I purchased at the Farmer's Market along side some freshly made Whipped Cream (the ruse that would get the kids to consume more berries than they would otherwise).
Fluffy Whipped Cream
3/4 cup of cold heavy cream
3 Tbls. confectioner's sugar
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
Combine all three ingredients in a stand mixer (or a med. mixing bowl for a hand-held mixer) and set on high speed for about 5 minutes. When the cream is thick with med-stiff peaks, it should be ready!
